WHY SHOULD I TAKE STAND-UP CLASSES?
We like to compare it to golf. You can only really be a golfer if you play golf. But if you want to be a better golfer, it is best to get lessons. Even the best golfer in the world, Tiger Woods, even has a coach. Yes, you can learn stand-up comedy without classes, but you will have to learn from your own mistakes and your progress will not be as fast or accurate. Plus, just like golf, you can develop some bad habits that will hurt your perfrmance. So the sooner you get lessons, the better you will be in the long run.

Kenney Johnson has current TV credits for his stand-up comedy and his comedy writing. In one of your last classes, Marshall Chiles will talk to you about the business of comedy. He is the owner/operator of The Laughing Skull Lounge and The Funny Farm Comedy Club, as well as the creator and executive producer of The Laughing Skull Comedy Festival. He is also an international professional comedian seen on Last Comic Standing, Comedy Central, and he has performed in numerous comedy festivals.
We are the only stand-up comedy class in Atlanta that is taught inside a real comedy club: The Laughing Skull Lounge. This means that you will be on stage in every class getting ready to perform in front of a real live audience. You will feel the lights, hear your voice over the sound system, and see people looking at you while you are on stage starting on Day One.
And since we are part of The Laughing Skull Lounge, during your class, you can come see comedians FOR FREE at The Laughing Skull Lounge on Wednesday, Thursday or Sunday shows. We highly recommend watching comedians perform in order to get a better understanding of the art form. And if you watch the same comedian more than once, you will really learn a lot about how the pros do their jokes, handle the crowd and deliver their jokes. WHAT WILL I LEARN FROM TAKING YOUR STAND-UP COMEDY CLASS?
Please understand… NOBODY CAN TEACH YOU STAND-UP COMEDY! What we teach you is how to write jokes out of your life, current events, stories and more. We will then teach you how to perform these jokes and put them in a set list. When you graduate, you will have 5-7 minutes of material to go out and hit the comedy circuit.

WHAT ARE THE CLASS DETAILS?
The classes are five weeks long and a great deal at $350. The first four weeks you are preparing your material and set list, then you have rehersal, and then on the fifth week you are graduating at The Laughing Skull Lounge in front of a live paying audience.

WHAT ARE THE ONLINE CLASS DETAILS?
Most people who want to take a comedy class do not live near one… or they are very time restricted and want to be as efficient as possible. The online classes give you one on one instructor time over the phone or via skype. You will get the same writing assignments as the live class, and then perform them for the teacher. He will help you with writing out the better joke, then help you with delivering it. Once you complete this course, you will be ready to hit some open mics and take the stage with more confidence and preparedness.
